De Barrabands papegaai (Pyrilia barrabandi) is een soort uit de papegaaienfamilie Psittacidae. Het was vroeger geplaatst in het genus Pionopsitta die nu is monotypisch.
Ze hebben hun leefgebied in het Andesgebied rond de Amazone, in de vochtige laagland bossen in het noordwesten, zuidwesten en zuiden-centrale Amazonegebied in Zuid-Amerika.
De binomiale naam van deze vogel herdenkt de Franse schilder Jacques barraband.
